An interesting one in a desirable area. This 1970s modernist house in Stoke Bishop, Bristol is up for sale.

Thanks to Katie for pointing out this one, although details about it are a little thin on the ground. What I do know, thanks to the agent, is that it’s a first time on the market for a house designed by the current owner on a plot of around 0.57 acres.

I’m guessing the 1970s looking at some of the details here, although this house might well have been extended or updated since. Certainly around that time and although it still has a number of period selling points, the rise might need a bit of updating here and there by a new owner.

Of course, that large reception space is one of the key selling points. Perfect for a party and with a rather interesting fireplace area to one side. Love those wooden ceilings too.

It’s quite a substantial house as well, with 4,326 sq. ft. of living space and with picture windows and access to some outside balconies for some great views.

If you want more living area to play with, the integral triple garage is certainly an opportunity to extend. Unless you have a few cars that need housing or a like the idea of all that storage space.

But in terms of existing space, the garden floor has four of the five bedrooms which have the use of the family bathroom and two of them have direct access to the terrace. Also on the floor is a kitchen, an adjoining utility and dining room and, would you believe, a sauna.

The first floor has that wonderful reception space with balcony access, the sunroom, a study and what looks like the master bedroom with en-suite.

Outside, gardens wrap around the house, while a drive leads to the triple garage. Terraces include a barbecue area and leads to a further terrace accessible from bedrooms four and five.

That’s not quite all as this house also has a swimming pool which has been emptied over recent years and a path leads to the gazebo and lower gardens which include a detached studio, perhaps capable of being used as a home office. Finally, a set of steps lead to a kitchen garden.

A desirable area and a substantial plot probably mean this one is pricey. But I don’t know for sure as it is a price on application.
