A lot of originality still present in this 1930s art deco property in Sneyd Park, Bristol, which is now on the market.

It isn’t quite a time capsule, but there are plenty of original features still in place. That’s the appeal here. Updates have been undertaken over the years, but the fabric of the 1930s house is still present. Not often you can say that in 2018.

I would guess that the house, which is available chain-free, hasn’t been on the market for quite some time. But there’s an opportunity to take it on now, although you will have to undertake some modernisation.

It just needs a loving touch. Hopefully, whoever takes it on will respect what is here and keep the key features intact.

But with the house having ‘one of the most exclusive addresses in BS9’, there is the worry that someone might see this either as a plot or want to do something radically different with it. As far as I can see, it isn’t listed, so would be open to any changes the new owner wanted to undertake.

It would be a shame to lose the original architecture. the Crittall windows, that amazing wood-panelled hallway and the vintage light fittings. Love the fact that the old ‘bell’ system is still in place too.

Elsewhere, the bathroom and kitchen certainly need a rethink and the whole place probably needs a refresh. Let’s hope that is the case rather than it being completely gutted.

A lot of living space within this one too. Enter via the feature entrance hall and you can access the bay fronted sitting room, along with a triple aspect dining room, which in turn leads to the kitchen/breakfast room.

On the first floor, a master bedroom has access to a covered roof terrace with three further dual aspect bedrooms and a family bathroom completing the internal space.

The house sits on a ‘generous’ plot, which is a mixture of lawn and plants. Private parking space too.

A desirable house in an equally desirable part of a much-loved city. Of course, it isn’t cheap. This one is up for £1,250,000.
