It is a substantial renovation project. But hopefully you can see the potential in this 1960s modernist property in Bridge of Allan, Stirling, Scotland.

The house is known as The Rowans and is described as a ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’ by the agent. Hopefully that is referring to the house rather than the plot, which is also likely to be quite sought after.

That’s because the plot is an elevated one, looking out towards Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument and being fairly substantial too. You average developer is likely to be checking out planning options for this one in the very near future.

But hopefully someone with a love of the house itself gets in there first, as there is potential to do something with this 1960s modernist build. Absolutely no background offered here and nothing obvious online either. So you get what you see.

That’s a house that looks almost abandoned. It really doesn’t look like it has been lived in for quite some time, with nature starting to take over the exterior. But not to a point where it is lost, I hope.

The architecture is distinctive, interesting and very much of its era. A huge selling point. But not the only selling point of this one.

Have a look inside. Of course, it needs work. But there is much to appreciate within.

That reception with features window, beams, wood panelling, exposed brick and feature fireplace for example. Or the other wood panelled rooms, the possibility of an original kitchen to salvage and more exposed brick in the hallway, as well as an original staircase.

Yes, a survey is required to make sure this one doesn’t suffer from anything terminal. But the basis of a very cool and individual house is definitely here. With some investment, it just might be a dream project for one of you.

Space is also a selling point of this particular house. The lower floor is currently laid out with an office, a wet room, a utility room, storage area and three bedrooms, as well as the main hallway.

Head upstairs and you get that wonderful lounge, a second lounge, a dining room, a further bedroom, the kitchen and a WC.

As I said, a good amount of space outside too, which looks to have been cut back so you can appreciate the space on offer. Like the house, it needs work, but also offers a lot of potential.

One last selling point too, which is the price. I don’t know the Stirling market, but I do know offers over £242,000 makes this a house with wider appeal than many that I tend to feature.

If you want it, go have a look at it. You might be the person to save it.

Huge thanks to Marie for the tip off!

Update: Thanks to Lesley for pointing out that this was a previous find, but things have changed since. The grounds have been cleared, the house also cleared and the price dropped. See the original article here.
