We think this is 1960s. Possibly an early 1970s build, but around that timescale for sure. From the outside it doesn’t jump off the page as readily as some we have featured, although the rather stark frontage and the heavily glazed section to the side certainly hint at this being an interesting place.
It is when you get in and see the main reception space that you really understand the ‘wow’ factor. A huge split-level space with exposed brick and distinctive period fireplace, not to mention the wood panelling above, which also extends to the hallway. It’s a hip party space of its time.
If you want and expect more of that you might be disappointed. Much of the house has been updated, although hints of the past remain here and there if you look around.
Much of the place is fairly neutral though, so if you want to add in some midcentury design and colour, I’m sure this place could easily take it.
Good amount of living space over its two floors too. 2,500 sq. ft. in total, including an entrance porch, the reception dining room, raised living room and garden room a study with ‘separate sunken’ study area, breakfast kitchen, utility, cloakroom and double garage on the ground floor.
On the first floor you will find four double bedrooms, one with a walk-in wardrobe and en-suite shower room, as well as a ‘spacious’ family bathroom.
Outside are the ‘substantial gardens’ to the front and rear and plenty of off-street parking in addition to the garage.
If you want more space, the agent points out the potential for extending further, but if the current layout suits you just fine, the asking price is £465,000.
