A little bit annoying that we can’t see the front of this property in all its glory. But that’s likely to be down to the location of this 1960s three-bedroom waterfront property in Newton Ferrers, South Devon.
Yes, positioned very attractively over the Yealm Estuary. If a photographer was going to catch the front of this place close up, he would probably need a boat and a zoom lens. As it is, we’ll haver to make do with the circled shot, which still shows a distinctive period build, heavily glazed to take advantage of those views.
It actually dates to 1967, with a design that ensures views from all ‘principal’ rooms over that estuary and of course, plenty of natural light. It is also ‘of a reverse level orientation’ with the sitting room opening on to a balcony and all the bedrooms opening on to the terraced gardens. Steps from there also lead to a ‘substantial’ quay and slipway access to the foreshore.
As for the internal accommodation, it looks largely unchanged over the years, with the images showing pine clad vaulted ceilings and stone walls, as well as predominantly open plan living space. Head in via an entrance lobby, which in turn leads to the sitting room with sliding doors leading out to a full width balcony. There’s also a dining room with interior glazed windows other rooms, a fitted kitchen and cloakroom.
You’ll also find a ground floor lower hall, WC, bathroom, the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and two further bedrooms and a laundry area outside. Talking of outside space, there are those gardens we mentioned, along with a sloping drive to a single garage a summerhouse.
£725,000 is the guide price.
