There’s an issue with the listing for this 1930s Frank Scarlett modernist property in Tonbridge, Kent. A lack of internal shots.
We have had this one ‘on hold’ for weeks now, with the hope of seeing some internal photos. The agent mentioned that some would be online ‘soon’ some time ago, but as yet. nothing has appeared. Very frustrating. Sadly, I’m far from the Kent area, so a viewing is out of the question.
But we are still going to feature it. I’m hopeful that those internal photos will land eventually, so I will be updating it when they do. But I’m also conscious that some of you might have a genuine interest in this kind of house and don’t want to leave it too long in case it gets snapped up.
So we will go with these photos and the details we have. In terms of the latter, we know, via the agent, that this house dates back to 1930 and I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that the house was extended in the 1960s. It certainly looks that way from certain angles, although the modernist character of the original still shines through.
Apparently, the house is ‘in need of updating’ and with the house described as both ‘avant-garde’ and ‘characteristic of the modern movement’, we are hopeful that there are original features still in place here. If you do book a viewing, please let us know.
Space is described as ‘versatile’, with five bedrooms, three reception rooms, a kitchen, utility, cloaks and the family. bathroom. There’s also a ‘super sized’ mature garden, car-port and a double garage. outside too.
So lots of space, a wonderful piece of architecture, plenty of land and the possibility of something original still in place. If this sounds like your dream house, offers around the £950,000 mark are invited.
