Not all conversions are equal. This grade II-listed Limehouse Wharf apartment in London E14 is exceptional.
We’re very fond of industrial conversions, but only when the work is carried out correctly. Basically, we want to see a lot of the past in its present.
Thankfully that’s what we get in this grade II-listed conversion, which covers the whole of the second floor of the building, offering around 2,200 sq. ft. of living space.
The exterior is obviously striking. It doesn’t take too much imagination to see how this would have looked in its industrial past. Pretty much as it is now.
It doesn’t take a leap of imagination to see the interior of the past either, although that’s obviously now been converted to living space. Thankfully period featured still remain, such as the pillars, beams, the exposed brick and presumably those windows too. Wood flooring as well? Quite possibly.
The apartment layout is largely open plan living space, with the living area, dining area and kitchen all flowing from one to the next. Beyond that are the two bedrooms, an en-suite shower room, a second bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe.
Double doors also open onto a Juliette balcony, with views towards the River Thames and if you need extra space, there is a ‘vast storage area’ in the basement.
Of course, it comes at a price. This is up for £1,400,000.
